The Readathon starts on March 3rd and ends on April 22nd (extened deadline until Friday 4pm) and you have those seven and a half weeks to read as much as you can. Get people to sponsor your reading by making pledges. You can select to be sponsored either on a per-book, per-page or per-10 minutes read basis. Then, just keep track of your reading and see how much money you raise for the school. You may win a prize too! Good luck!
READATHON INSTRUCTIONS
Keep safe, never ask strangers to sponsor you.
Prizes will be given to one child from each class that has become inspired to read more literature during the readathon. Winners will be announced at the end of the Readathon in the school’s newsletter.
Here you can register pupils to take part in the Readathon. We just need the child's name, a contact email address and their year and class letter. (Note that the pupil's last name will be hidden on the website for safeguarding reasons)
Select between per-book, per-page or per-10 minutes read challenges. The pupil will be able to log their progress either in the PUPILS tab above or in your account dashboard.
The pupil will also get their very own personal website that they can personalise with a picture, post updates to and direct their supporters to make pledges. We recommend that you personalise the link with the child's first name and surname letter (not the full surname) during checkout, as this will make it much easier to share with sponsors. For example, for Mary Smith the link would be https://sja.rallyup.com/readathon/mary-s
Note that you can register several children simultaneously by adding one registration per child to the trolley.
The PA is here to support the school through fundraising and building a strong parent community. All parents and carers are members of the PA and are welcome to contribute in any way they can. Thanks to the community's generous contributions, we are able to provide funds to upgrade the playground equipment, classroom libraries, fund school trips and more.
